Sculpture

The following sculptures have been created from the life model, developed and modified into expressive forms. They are preceded by life drawings to explore the qualities of different poses and to become familiar with the structure, shape and form of the model.

The sculptures are created using stoneware ceramic material, kiln-fired twice. The second firing is to maximum temperature and the figures are therefore sufficiently durable to withstand outdoor year-round temperatures. Between firings the surface of the clay is rubbed with oxides - red iron and manganese.
